Aaron C Packard, Iago played by Chingwe Padraig Sullivan.
2023. Archival Pigment Print. 36x24”.
Description: This photograph depicts a Shakespearean actor, dressed in a patterned tunic, standing with their arms crossed within a clearing of trees. Their head is turned over their right shoulder facing the artificial light source. I created this portrait as part of a Baroque-ish series to document actors in a post-colonial/post-apocalyptic version of Othello using my Sony a7R IV camera with 70-200mm f2.8 lens and the Godox AD1200 pro and AD600 pro lights.
Aaron C Packard, The Table.
2024. Archival Inkjet Print. 24x48”.
Description: In this photograph, there is a long table laden with desserts and covered with a violet cloth. Ten people pose on the opposite side of the table with drinks in hand as they converse in front of a large oil painting of a recumbent dude. I created this composition after building a custom 4x8’ soft box so I could illuminate all the feminine and nonbinary models in a play on the Last Supper. Additionally, I used the Sony a7R IV with 24-70mm f2.8 lens with a ring flash.
Aaron C Packard, Something about Red, White, and Blue.
2024. Archival Inkjet Print. 24x20”
Description: A small piece of red candy shaped like a star stands on top of a piece of blue fabric. The harsh lighting from above casts a long star-shaped shadow, which fills up the bulk of this composition. I made this image as part of a South Dakota Arts Council grant project, where I used candy as an ephemeral subject matter. I used a Sony a7R IV body on the Cambo Actus B with Mamiya 110mm lens to document this small star.
Aaron C Packard, Say, “When.”
2024. Archival Inkjet Print. 24x20”.
Description: A giant brandy snifter bears an obscene amount of orange cheeseballs, and the glass is doused in liquid yellow cheese, plus it’s garnished with a red Cheeto. The mess sits atop a wooden surface, and the background is colored with blue light. I make dramatic photographs, but I enjoy incorporating fun subjects into my still life imagery to connect with the viewers in my community. In addition to the Ricos cheese sauce, I used studio flashes and a Sony a7R IV body on the Cambo Actus B with Mamiya 110mm lens.

2016. Mixed Media Installation. 12x20x10’.
Description: This video begins with multiple and moving screens of hyper-photomontages kaleidoscoping within a dim gallery. There are a few still images of viewers interacting within the immersive environment, but the video switches back to documenting the installation of layered and rotating images. The sound includes buzzing, music, spoken word, and plinking on an antique Organo piano. I created this installation to share the concept of memories and loss by composing music/sounds, animating my complex multi-layered photographs, and installing the projectors and motors.
